Description

Description: Mouse monoclonal antibody to human colorectal carcinoma

Purification: Protein G affinity purified

Product Type: Primary antibody

Target Protein: Human colorectal carcinoma related protein

Immunogen: Human colorectal carcinoma

Fusion Myeloma: Sp2/0-Ag14

Specificity: The selected monoclonal antibody reacts with frozen and formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded human colorectal carcinoma tissues, but does not react with normal adult tissues tested such as liver, colon, breast, stomach, lymph node, and kidney. This antibody can detect the presence of the tumor-associated antigen in the serum of patients with colorectal carcinoma, and was shown to react with mucin-like oncofetal pancarcinoma antigen, glycoprotein TAG-72 (MW: 220-400kDa.)

Species Reacitvity: Human, others not tested

Host / Isotype: Mouse, IgG1 Kappa

Formulation: Lyophilized from a solution in 0.01M PBS, pH7.0

Reconstitution: Double distilled water is recommended to adjust the final concentration to 1.00mg/mL.

Storage: Store at -20oC

Research Area: Oncology

Background:

Colorectal carcinoma is the cancer developed in the colon or rectum of the digestive system.  In developed countries, it is the most common cancer in aging population.  Genetic deposition and a less active life style contribute to the development of the cancer. Molecular pathological study showed that altered Wnt-APC-b-catenim signalling pathway, mutated p53, and deactivated TGF-b and DCC (Deleted in Colon Cancer) are involved with the pathogenesis. The cancer is currently screened with a fecal occult blood test in people over 50 years old and the malignancy is confirmed by tumour biopsy. The search for specific biomarker for non-invasive test is still ongoing.

Tumour associated antigen, TAG-72, is a high molecular weight glycoprotein found at the cell surface in a variety of cancers including gastric cancer, ovarian cancer, colon cancer, breast cancer and pancreatic cancer.  It has been used as a tumour marker and therapeutic target for cancer treatment.

Application: IHC
